EDIT - "Stormin' Martha" was ushered into the world at 11:30 pm 3/30/10, wieghing 35 lbs, with two fuzzy white ears, one pink nose, a white-tipped tail and 4 sturdy little brown legs.
The name is a result of HorseChaser having to put down one of her favorite dairy cows, Martha, that very day.
It's all very cycle of life, and I feel like I should be humming the score of "The Lion King".

Last night at about 11, Mrs Bennet (the older Polled Hereford) gave birth to a little baby girl fuzzy bundle of joy.
Pictures and stats to follow.

*Happy dance*

Apparently, she will henceforth be known as "Stormin' Martha" per reason of my sister.
But I really liked Jane, and will be holding out to name more of them after literary figures. ;)

Hooray for not having 'OMG look at the size of that COW' anymore. And instead having another cow.

Yea, it had kind of gotten to the point where she didn't fit in the door of the barn any more...

That makes sense. Although not something I would have known otherwise.

I <3 hearing about your little herd. I learn more about animal husbandry than I ever would have otherwise.

Because nobody has said it yet...

Hmmm... veal... :D

(Yes, I did read the above comment about keeping the female cows.)

Hehehe...

You know, it's funny, but you bottle feed a few of em and veal isn't as interesting anymore.
I like 'em bigger. you get more off them that way. ;)
